About us
Navigating suicide bereavement can be hard. Suicide loss is devastating and quite often adds complicated layers to the already difficult grieving process.
In 2019 (latest robust data due to Covid-19), 5,691 people died by suicide in England and Wales (ONS) and for every person gone, there are said to be 135 suicide survivors and 6 people directly bereaved, meaning our target community is at least 34,146.
Before founding Suicide&Co, we carried out extensive research across the sector and found a gap in the existing bereavement services. Our charity is the first national organisation that focuses solely on providing counselling and professional support for those bereaved by suicide.
Our primary service offering is a Counselling Service where we offer 12 free to access counselling sessions to anyone 18+ in England and Wales who is bereaved by suicide
We also have a Helpline run by bereavement counsellors which is open Monday-Friday 9am-9pm on 0800 054 8400, or via webchat and email. We are proud to say that this is the first National Listening Service Helpline, which is run by professional bereavement counsellors, for those bereaved by suicide in the UK.
We also have online resources to support those bereaved by suicide from day one. By offering a source of consolidated specific information in a user friendly hub, we enable individuals to access the right information as quickly as possible, welcoming them into a non-judgemental community.
